Featured Music Artist A Rocket to the Moon Interview

A Rocket to the Moon: Nick Santino, Justin Richards, Eric Halvorsen, Andrew Cook

Hometown: Braintree, MA

Genre: Pop/Rock

Label: Fueled By Ramen

Off the heels of their recently released hit album ‘Wild & Free’ and the release of their music video “Ever Enough”… I had the pleasure to interview Nick Santino lead singer of one of the hottest bands in the country, A Rocket to the Moon. This pop/rock band from Massachusetts delivers an infectious sound that captures you instantly. With their new album ‘Wild & Free’ the band blends in so well their love of country music which baits you in quickly delivering a refreshing sound that keeps you enamored and wanting more. Pick up your copy of ‘Wild & Free’ HERE!

Joey: Nick thank you so much for hanging out it’ such a great pleasure.

Nick: Of course!

Joey: I gotta tell you ‘Wild & Free’ is one of the best albums I’ve listen to this year. The title says it all. It’s exactly how the music makes me feel. What was the approach and inspiration in creating this album?

Nick: We wanted to make a record we were proud of. Something that was close to home and relatable to everyone. It was an inspiring record to create and we hope people get that same message.

Joey: You guys mixed in a tad more country blend in ‘Wild & Free.’ Is this the direction you see your music going? It’s such a feel good sound.

Nick: It’s just us growing up. I can see it progressing more and more but it’s been a natural change for us.

Joey: Who’s the catalyst in writing the songs?

Nick: Justin and I write the bones of the songs. The songs come from every day experiences. Love, life, friends, loss, family. Everything.

Joey: The song “Ever Enough” is very touching and heartfelt. The music video was great. Does this song represent a personal experience?

Nick: This song is about telling someone you’ll be with them forever. Through the good and the bad. It’s something everyone has gone through or will go through.

Joey: How was it working with Debby Ryan on the music video? She starred in it and also helped produced it?

Nick: She’s great. We consider each other best friends and it was a very comfortable thing to be able to go on a road trip with your best friend. She’s a talented person and I have learned a lot from her.

Joey: You guys are getting ready to tour. What three words best describes A Rocket to the Moon show?

Nick: Different. True. Sincere.

Joey: What else can fans expect from A Rocket to the Moon in 2013?

Nick: Hopefully a lot of touring. That’s always our plan.

Joey: Nick thanks again for hanging out. I wish you and the boys continued
success. Any final words or shout outs?

Nick: Thank you! I appreciate that. If we come out to your city this year come hang out! We’d love to see you!
