A new month brings us joy at Joey Voodoo as we get to unveil our new Voodoo Doll of the Month. October takes us across the pond to Canada as we are excited to feature and present to you, tattooer and model, the beautiful Karri Starr!
Joey: Hey Karri thanks so much for taking the time to hang out. Tell us how did you get into tattooing and who gave you your first shot?
Karri: Bonjour handsome and thank you for asking me to be apart of this. I feel extremely honored you had be blushing as I did the happy dance lol. I have been an artist since I was capable of holding a pen or paintbrush, and got into tattooing through an ex of mine, taught me the basics and now I have been tattooing for four years and loving every fucking moment of it. It’s not a career but a passion and lifestyle that suits me very well!
Joey: What tattoo artists inspire you?
Karri: I have many tattooists that inspire me and that I look up too, such as jeff Gogue, Bob Tyrrell, Carlos Torres and Joshua Carlton. Art is my life and tattooing is an endless art that I adore.
Joey: Besides tattooing you also model. How did this come about?
Karri: I consider myself someone who does side modeling. It started with helping out local artists who needed to build there portfolios, to painters needing subject matter and body positioning. Then it just went from there, it’s something I enjoy but in truth I have a shot of Patron before every shot or runway show lol!
Joey: What type of shoots do you like?
Karri: I enjoy doing many kinds of shoots, for every photographer is an artist and has different ideas on the art in which they wish you to portray. So I love doing any kind from climbing tress and getting wet and dirty to pin up style to dark and sinister and artistic nudity! Lol. I will try anything once and do my best for the shot and hope I have delivered their story. I must admit though I am shocked and taken back to be asked but always honored!
Joey: What makes you feel sexy?
Karri: What makes me feel sexy…well I am a very sexual person and have a huge obsession with high heels, lingerie and big necklaces or collars but I feel the sexiest skinny dipping under the moon light with music in the back ground!
Joey: What actor would you want to play your love interest in a movie?
Karri: This question is kinda tough to answer. As far as what actor I would want to play my love interest…hmmm kinda have to say Jax from Sons of Anchory (Charlie Humman). When I have pleasured myself he has popped into my mind from time to time lol! And yes us women do enjoy being pleasured and pleasuring ourselves! Lol
Joey: Who are your three favorite bands/musicians?
Karri: I have many favorite bands and musicians. I am a heavy metal lover! I adore Rob Zombie. My favorite concert was Tool and Lamb of God, that concert was what I call an eargasm, it was perfect in everyway. Pantera’s Walk, I love that song. I listen to it in my headphones often when I tattoo. I have a friend who’s music I enjoy. He is new and local and it is a pleasure to see him on stage his voice is perfect, Eric Praetsch from Steadfast!
Joey: If you were a candy bar, what would you be and why?
Karri: I’m not sure on the candy bar I would be but I do adore melting aero bars and dipping strawberries in them but I am more of a lollipop girl. I love having something in my mouth that I can savor, lick, and suck on!
